Linear Direct Drive Enables 100T+ Optical Interconnection for Data Centers in the Computing Era

The emergence of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies like ChatGPT is driving the rapid growth of global computing power and data center bandwidth requirements, as well as accelerating the application of new optoelectronic technologies such as Linear Direct Drive. All of this is helping to solve the increasingly prominent problems such as system power consumption and heat dissipation of high-density modules.
Closely relevant to the popular co-packaged optics (CPO) and pluggable optics solutions, the Linear Direct Drive technology moves the CDR on boards and the ODSP inside modules to SerDes, and enhances the linear compensation capabilities of the DRV and TIA in links to balance power consumption reduction and performance.
In March 2023, IPEC, LightCounting, and experts from the industry discussed the key technical challenges and future application scenarios of Linear Direct Drive. So, half a year into its development, what research progress has Linear Direct Drive made in the industry?
IPEC and LightCounting will hold a global webinar titled “Linear Direct Drive Enables 100T+ Optical Interconnection for Data Centers in the Computing Era” on September 20, 2023. Experts from Meta, NVIDIA, Dell, Arista, Marvell, MACOM, HiSilicon, RANOVUS, Source Photonics, and AOI will be invited to share their views and discuss the application scenarios and requirements of Linear Direct Drive, progress and results of related simulation tests, and issues and challenges faced at the current stage. We sincerely invite industry experts to participate in the discussion.
